Elon Musk, a well-known American businessman and founder of SpaceX, made a bold statement. He is convinced that his company has a chance to launch the first tourist mission to the Red Planet as early as 2025.

The announcement was made during his speech at the Hong Kong forum in front of the assembled investors. However, Musk did not consider it necessary to share the details of his project, postponing its detailed presentation until September. It is expected that he will back up his bold statements with serious arguments during the International Astronomical Conference.

While investors are racking their brains over whether it is worthwhile to allocate additional investments in the company's bold project today, let us dwell on a few important facts. So, the founder of SpaceX made his first statements that a person will be able to step on the surface of Mars in the near future back in 2013.

Musk has suggested that by 2018, his company will be able to complete work on an improved Dragon capsule of its own production, which will be launched into orbit by the Falcon Heavy launch vehicle. In his opinion, this will be the first non-stop flight from Earth to Mars. Then, within several years, it will be possible to talk about the readiness of the project to carry out the first tourist action.
