One of the smallest regions of the country is located in Central Russia. Oryol Oblast stretches 150 km from north to south and 200 km from west to east. Natural attractions

The main natural reserve of the Oryol region is the national park "Orlovskoe Polesie". The unique protected area covers an area of ​​77.7 thousand hectares. Rare animals and birds are protected in the park, and more than 200 bison live in the wild. In "Oryol Polesye" the population of the Russian desman is being restored and the African ostrich has been acclimatized.

The park has two hotel complexes, zoovaleries and a huge arboretum. Tourist routes with a total length of about 100 km are laid through the territory.

Another natural attraction of the Oryol region is the Shatilovsky forest. It was planted from 1846 to 1915 to prevent soil erosion and today covers an area of ​​1,311 hectares. Biologists have counted 140 species of trees and shrubs in the old forest.

Travelers love to come to an unusual tree that grows near the village of Muravlevo in the Uritsky district. Lizochkina linden is huge and is more than 150 years old. 40 trunks grow upward from a single root. A unique natural monument!

Another popular place among travelers is located in the village of Zlyn, Bolkhovsky district. This is the estate of the breeder Telegin, who kept horses here in the 19th century.
