Natural attractions
The main natural reserve of the Oryol region is the national park "Orlovskoe Polesie". The unique protected area covers an area of 77.7 thousand hectares. Rare animals and birds are protected in the park, and more than 200 bison live in the wild. In "Oryol Polesye" the population of the Russian desman is being restored and the African ostrich has been acclimatized.
